Biography

Nathan Rosen is recognized among Jewish contributors to Science & Medicine — Physicist; the EPR paradox and Einstein-Rosen bridge (wormhole)

How & why

Nathan Rosen was a physicist who, with Albert Einstein and Boris Podolsky, formulated the 1935 EPR paradox on quantum entanglement, and with Einstein described the 'Einstein–Rosen bridge' — the first mathematical model of a wormhole. Born to a Jewish family in Brooklyn, he later emigrated to Israel and helped build physics at the Technion, founding the Israeli physics community's institutions. Both the EPR argument and the wormhole concept remain central to modern physics.
