Joseph Caspi is recognized among Jewish contributors to Arts & Literature — Provencal grammarian, philosopher, and prolific Bible commentator.

How & why

Joseph ibn Kaspi was a Provençal Jewish grammarian, philosopher and one of the most prolific medieval Bible commentators, producing dozens of works that applied logic and reason to Scripture in the tradition of Maimonides. He travelled widely to study and taught his own children through an ethical will; he was a committed Jewish scholar of the Languedoc.
