Bob Kane (born Robert Kahn) was an American comic book writer and artist who co-created Batman with Bill Finger.
Kane co-created Batman with writer Bill Finger for DC Comics in 1939, giving popular culture one of its most enduring superheroes. He was born Robert Kahn into an Ashkenazi Jewish family in the Bronx; DC now credits Finger alongside Kane as co-creator.
