Zivia Lubetkin is recognized among Israeli contributors to Heroes of Israel — Only woman on the ZOB high command; fighter in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and co-founder of the Ghetto Fighters' House.
Zivia Lubetkin was a leader of the Dror pioneer movement in Warsaw and the only woman on the high command of the Jewish Combat Organisation (ZOB). She helped create the Anti-Fascist Bloc in 1942, fought in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of April-May 1943 and was among roughly thirty-four fighters who escaped through the sewers on 10 May, continuing resistance on the Polish side of the city and taking part in the 1944 Warsaw Uprising. After the war she worked in the Bricha network moving survivors towards Mandatory Palestine, emigrating in 1946. With Yitzhak Zuckerman she founded Kibbutz Lohamei HaGeta'ot and its Ghetto Fighters' House museum, and she testified at the Eichmann trial in 1961.
