How & why

Władysław Natanson was a Polish theoretical physicist known for his work in thermodynamics and for a 1911 paper on the statistics of radiation that anticipated aspects of Bose–Einstein statistics of light quanta. He was a professor at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. He came from the prominent assimilated Jewish Natanson family of Warsaw and was baptized a Roman Catholic in his youth.
