How & why

Sid Luckman was an American football quarterback who led the Chicago Bears to four NFL championships in the 1940s and, as the first great T-formation passer, helped transform pro football into a passing game. He was named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame and remains one of the sport's pioneering quarterbacks. He was Jewish, the son of Jewish immigrants from Germany.
