Soviet-born Israeli chess grandmaster (WGM) who was among the world's strongest women players from the mid-1960s to early 1970s and challenged three times for the Women's World Championship. She won three Chess Olympiads (1969 and 1972 with the USSR, 1976 with Israel after immigrating in 1974), later becoming a professor of classics and numismatics. This Jewish player was inducted into the World Chess Hall of Fame in 2017.
