Shem-Tov ibn Falaquera was a Jewish philosopher, encyclopedist and translator of the Crown of Aragon who rendered Greco-Arabic science and philosophy into Hebrew and wrote works such as the encyclopedic 'De'ot ha-Filosofim'. His 'Moreh ha-Moreh' defended Maimonides' 'Guide of the Perplexed' during the Maimonidean controversy. He helped make the philosophical and scientific learning of the age accessible to Hebrew readers.
