Robert Silverberg

Robert Silverberg was born to Jewish parents in Brooklyn. He published prodigiously from the 1950s, then in a decade beginning in the late 1960s wrote the books that made his reputation — Dying Inside, Nightwings, A Time of Changes — trading pulp adventure for interiority and loss. He has won multiple Hugo and Nebula awards and was named a Grand Master by the Science Fiction Writers of America.
