Richard Kroner was a German philosopher of the neo-Kantian and idealist tradition, best known for his two-volume study 'Von Kant bis Hegel' (1921-1924), a landmark reconstruction of German idealism. Of Jewish descent, he was dismissed by the Nazi regime and emigrated via Britain to the United States, where he taught at Union Theological Seminary in New York. His later work explored the relationship between faith and philosophical reason.
