How & why

Anders was a German-Austrian philosopher whose critique of technology and the nuclear age — notably 'The Obsolescence of Humankind' — argued that humanity's productive capacities had outrun its moral imagination. Born Günther Siegmund Stern into a Jewish family, a cousin of Walter Benjamin and first husband of Hannah Arendt, he fled the Nazis via France to the United States.
