Paul Gordan is recognized among Jewish contributors to Science & Medicine — Invariant theory; the 'king of invariant theory'
How & why
Gordan was a German mathematician called the 'king of invariant theory' for his computational mastery of algebraic invariants, and he proved the finiteness of invariants for binary forms (the Clebsch-Gordan work bears his name in physics). He famously resisted Hilbert's abstract existence proof in the field. He was Jewish.
