Mort Weisinger was an American comic-book and magazine editor who co-created Aquaman, Green Arrow and Johnny Quick in 1941, and as the Silver Age editor of the Superman titles (1958–1970) shaped much of the Superman mythology, from Supergirl to the Bottle City of Kandor. The son of Austrian Jewish immigrants, raised in the Bronx, he was Jewish. He was also an active early science-fiction fan and writer.
