John von Neumann is recognized among Jewish contributors to Science & Medicine — Computer Architecture and Game Theory
Von Neumann was one of the greatest mathematicians of the 20th century, whose 'von Neumann architecture' underlies nearly every modern computer, and who founded game theory with Oskar Morgenstern (1944) while contributing to quantum mechanics and the Manhattan Project. He was born into a non-observant Hungarian Jewish family and converted to Catholicism as an adult.
