Jedaiah ben Abraham Bedersi, called ha-Penini, was a Provençal Jewish poet, philosopher and physician best known for 'Behinat Olam' (Examination of the World), an eloquent ethical and philosophical meditation that became a classic of Hebrew literature. He also defended the study of philosophy during the Maimonidean controversy. He was a Jewish scholar of medieval southern France.
