Jedaiah ben Abraham Bedersi (ha-Penini) was a Provençal Jewish philosopher, physician and poet best known for 'Behinat Olam' (Examination of the World), a widely reprinted philosophical-ethical meditation on the vanity of worldly life and the value of wisdom. He also defended Maimonidean rationalism during the controversy over philosophy. He was Jewish.
