Elizabeth Borowsky is recognized among Jewish contributors to Technology & Engineering — Co-developed the topological theory of set consensus; Dijkstra Prize (2017)
Borowsky, with Eli Gafni, proved the impossibility of k-resilient k-set consensus and introduced the influential BG simulation, foundational results in the theory of fault-tolerant distributed computing. For this 1993 work she received the 2017 Edsger W. Dijkstra Prize. She is listed among Jewish recipients of the Dijkstra Prize; independent biographical documentation of her identity is limited.
