Frank Proschan

Frank Proschan was an American mathematical statistician and operations researcher, an emeritus professor at Florida State University, who with Richard Barlow founded mathematical reliability theory, laying the probabilistic foundations of reliability and life testing in their classic 1960s–70s texts; he received the John von Neumann Theory Prize in 1991.
