Bernard Greenhouse was an American cellist and a founding member of the Beaux Arts Trio, one of the most admired piano trios of the 20th century, and an influential teacher whose students spread across the world's orchestras and conservatories. He was born to a Jewish family in Newark, New Jersey, and is Jewish. He studied with Pablo Casals and played a celebrated Stradivarius cello.
