Wendelin Werner

Werner, with his collaborators, developed the mathematics of Schramm–Loewner evolution, rigorously describing random curves and interfaces in two-dimensional statistical physics, and won the 2006 Fields Medal. Born in Cologne and raised in France from infancy, he is included in Jinfo.org's list of Jewish mathematicians, though his widely available biographies do not further document a Jewish background. His work built a bridge between probability theory and mathematical physics.
