Stanislaw Ulam is recognized among Jewish contributors to Science & Medicine — Monte Carlo Method and H-bomb Design
Stanislaw Ulam was a mathematician who, at Los Alamos, co-devised the Teller-Ulam configuration that made the hydrogen bomb feasible and pioneered the Monte Carlo method of statistical simulation. His mathematical ideas also seeded nuclear pulse propulsion and cellular automata. He was born into a Polish Jewish family in Lwow (then Austria-Hungary) and emigrated to the United States in 1935.
