Stanislav Braginsky is recognized among Jewish contributors to Science & Medicine — Geophysicist who advanced the geodynamo theory explaining the generation of Earth's magnetic field

How & why

Stanislav I. Braginsky was a Russian-American geophysicist who advanced the theory of the geodynamo—the process by which fluid motion in Earth's molten core generates the planet's magnetic field—including his influential 'nearly symmetric dynamo' model.
