Simeon ben Lakish, known as Resh Lakish, was a third-century amora (Talmudic sage) of Tiberias in the Galilee, famed for his sharp dialectical debates, most often with his brother-in-law and study partner Rabbi Yohanan. His arguments are cited throughout the Talmud and shaped the development of Jewish law and Aggadah. He was a Jewish sage of the Land of Israel.
