Oscar Wallace Greenberg is an American theoretical physicist at the University of Maryland who in 1964 introduced the hidden three-valued 'color' quantum number of quarks, a foundation of quantum chromodynamics and the modern theory of the strong force. His parastatistics work explained how quarks can share quantum states. He is Jewish and is listed among Jewish physicists.
