Oded Regev is recognized among Israeli contributors to Technology & Engineering — Israeli inventor of Learning With Errors, the basis of post-quantum cryptography; Gödel Prize (2018)
Regev, an Israeli-American theoretical computer scientist at NYU's Courant Institute, introduced the Learning With Errors (LWE) problem in 2005. LWE provides cryptography whose security rests on the hardness of lattice problems and is now the foundation of most post-quantum encryption standards. He earned his PhD at Tel Aviv University and received the 2018 Godel Prize for this work.
