How & why

Noam Bettan was born in Ra'anana in 1998 to a French Jewish family of Algerian descent who had come from Grenoble, and speaks Hebrew, French and English. He won the twelfth season of HaKokhav HaBa in January 2026 and represented Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest that year with 'Michelle', sung in French, Hebrew and English and co-written by Yuval Raphael, who had represented Israel the year before. He finished second with 343 points.
