Nathaniel Rosen is an American cellist who won the gold medal at the 1978 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow — one of few Americans to do so — after studying with Gregor Piatigorsky and serving as principal cellist of the Pittsburgh Symphony; he has since taught at USC and the Manhattan School of Music.
