Jacques Hadamard is recognized among Jewish contributors to Science & Medicine — Proved the prime number theorem
Jacques Hadamard was a French mathematician who in 1896 proved the Prime Number Theorem (independently of de la Vallée Poussin), describing how primes thin out among the integers, and made lasting contributions to analysis, geometry and partial differential equations. He was born into a Jewish family and was an outspoken supporter of Alfred Dreyfus, a relative by marriage.
