Leopold Kronecker was a German mathematician who made deep contributions to number theory and algebra, including the Kronecker–Weber theorem and Kronecker's theorem on abelian extensions, and championed a constructivist view of mathematics ('God made the integers'). Born into a Jewish family, he converted to Christianity in the year of his death. He was of Jewish origin.
