How & why
Born in the Soviet Union to a Jewish family and emigrating to the United States as a teenager, Klebanov became a professor at Princeton and a leader in string theory. He co-authored one of the foundational papers making the gauge/gravity (AdS/CFT) duality precise, one of the most cited results in high-energy physics.
