Hasdai Crescas was a leading medieval Jewish philosopher, rabbi and communal leader. In his major work 'Or Hashem' ('The Light of the Lord') he mounted a sustained critique of the Aristotelian foundations of Maimonidean philosophy, questioning ideas of space, time and the infinite in ways later scholars link to early-modern thought. He was a Jew and a rabbinic authority of Aragonese Jewry.
