Wolfgang Stolper was an Austrian-born American economist who, with Paul Samuelson, formulated the Stolper–Samuelson theorem, a cornerstone of international-trade theory linking changes in output prices to the returns of the factors of production. He also pioneered development planning, notably in Nigeria. Son of the economist Gustav Stolper, he was of Jewish descent and emigrated as the Nazis rose.
