How & why

Werner Wolfgang Rogosinski was a German-born mathematician who worked in classical analysis, especially Fourier series, the theory of moments, and, with G. H. Hardy, on inequalities. He was of Jewish descent and lost his position under the Nazis, emigrating to Britain where he helped build the mathematics department at Newcastle. He died while visiting Denmark.
