Wendy Freedman

Wendy Freedman is a Canadian-American astronomer and University Professor at the University of Chicago who led the Hubble Space Telescope Key Project, which measured the universe's expansion rate (the Hubble constant) to about 10 percent accuracy and resolved a long-standing factor-of-two debate. She later initiated the Giant Magellan Telescope project and remains central to the modern 'Hubble tension' debate.
