Walter Gordon was a theoretical physicist best known for the Klein–Gordon equation, the relativistic wave equation for spin-zero particles that he and Oskar Klein formulated in 1926, and for the Gordon decomposition of the Dirac current. Forced from his Hamburg post after 1933, he emigrated to Sweden. He was born into a Jewish family in Apolda and fled Germany because of Nazi persecution of Jews.
