Biography

Steven Strogatz is recognized among Jewish contributors to Science & Medicine — Nonlinear dynamics; synchronization and small-world networks

How & why

Strogatz is an applied mathematician known for his work on nonlinear dynamics, especially the synchronization of coupled oscillators, and, with Duncan Watts, for the 1998 'small-world' network model that helped launch modern network science.
