Shahar Pe'er is a retired Israeli tennis player who reached a career-high world ranking of No. 11 in 2011, the highest ever achieved by an Israeli woman, and won five WTA singles titles. She reached Grand Slam quarterfinals and became a symbol of Israeli sport, including when denied a visa to play in Dubai in 2009. She is a Jewish Israeli.
