Biography

Sagi Zehavi is recognized among Israeli contributors to Arts & Literature — Israeli DJ and producer who plays live bouzouki over techno, bridging Mediterranean tradition and electronic music

How & why

Sagi Zehavi is a Jewish Israeli DJ and producer from Bat Yam who plays live bouzouki over techno. He says it himself, on his own page in October 2025: "I'm Israeli, I'm Jewish, I'm Zionist, and I make Arabic music." He learned the instrument as a child from his father, the musician Avraham Zehavi, took a music degree at the Kiryat Ono Academic College, and founded the ensemble Malabi Jam with friends. He busked and played bars before discovering electronic production, and now sets Mediterranean and Middle Eastern phrasing against club rhythm, performing in France, Greece and Cyprus and holding a residency at GOAT on Rothschild Boulevard, which he calls his second home. In September 2025 he released 'Fata Morgana' with the singer Itay Levi, his first collaboration with an Israeli artist.
