Robert Starer was an Austrian-born American composer of operas, ballets, concertos and choral works, who fled Nazi Austria, studied in Jerusalem, served in the British Royal Air Force, and later taught at Juilliard and Brooklyn College. He collaborated notably with choreographer Martha Graham. He was Jewish.
