David Amram

David Amram is an American Jewish composer, conductor and multi-instrumentalist whose eclectic output spans classical symphonic works, opera, film scores and jazz. He wrote the score for the film The Manchurian Candidate, was named the first composer-in-residence of the New York Philharmonic, and collaborated with figures of the Beat movement such as Jack Kerouac. His genre-crossing career made him a distinctive voice in twentieth-century American music.
