How & why

Rado was a mathematician who made fundamental contributions to combinatorics and Ramsey theory, including the Erdős–Ko–Rado theorem on intersecting sets, Rado's theorem in partition regularity, and the construction of the universal Rado graph. He was born to a Jewish family in Berlin and fled Nazi Germany in the 1930s, settling in Britain, where he taught at Reading.
