Lambert is a Canadian architect, patron and preservationist who at twenty-seven selected Ludwig Mies van der Rohe to design the Seagram Building in New York and served as its director of planning, then founded the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montreal in 1979 as a major museum and research institution. She received the 2016 Wolf Prize in Arts (Architecture). She was born into the prominent Jewish Bronfman family of Montreal.
