Rabinowitz was an American-Israeli applied mathematician known for his work in numerical analysis, especially methods of numerical integration, and for influential textbooks including 'A First Course in Numerical Analysis' and 'Methods of Numerical Integration'. After the US National Bureau of Standards, he taught at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel from 1955. He was Jewish.
