Paul Nemenyi is recognized among Jewish contributors to Science & Medicine — Fluid mechanics
Paul Felix Nemenyi was a Hungarian-born mathematician and physicist specializing in fluid dynamics and continuum mechanics; using inverse and semi-inverse methods he found many exact solutions of the nonlinear equations of gas dynamics, and became a leading authority on elasticity at the U.S. Naval Ordnance Laboratory. Forced from Hungary and then Germany by antisemitic laws, he emigrated to the United States. Nemenyi was Jewish.
