Antoni Oppenheim

Antoni Kazimierz Oppenheim was a Polish-born American engineer and professor at the University of California, Berkeley, recognized as one of the world's leading authorities on combustion, gaseous detonation and heat transfer, whose research illuminated how detonations initiate in tubes. A graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology, he built a distinguished career in fluid mechanics and combustion science in the United States.
