Noam Nisan

Nisan, an Israeli computer scientist at the Hebrew University, did foundational work in computational complexity — notably pseudorandomness and derandomization — and then helped create algorithmic game theory and algorithmic mechanism design, bringing economic incentives into the design of computations. He co-authored the field's defining textbook. He received the Gödel Prize in 2012 and the Knuth Prize in 2016.
