Thrall is an American writer based in Jerusalem who won the 2024 Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction for 'A Day in the Life of Abed Salama', which uses a single road accident to illuminate the human dimension of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. He is Jewish; he previously directed the Arab–Israeli Project at the International Crisis Group.
