How & why

Moshe Flato was an Israeli-French mathematical physicist who, with collaborators, developed the theory of deformation quantization—a mathematically rigorous reformulation of quantum mechanics as a deformation of classical mechanics—and founded the journal Letters in Mathematical Physics.
