Judah al-Harizi was a Jewish poet, translator and traveller of medieval Spain. He composed the 'Tahkemoni', the most celebrated Hebrew maqama collection, and translated Maimonides' 'Guide for the Perplexed' and other Arabic works into Hebrew, helping transmit Jewish philosophy to Hebrew readers. He travelled through Provence and the Levant, dying in Aleppo.
