Jeffrey Sachs

Sachs is an American economist and professor at Columbia University known for his work on macroeconomic policy, poverty reduction and sustainable development, including advising governments on economic reform and leading the UN Millennium Villages and Sustainable Development goals efforts. Born to a Jewish family in Detroit, he became one of the world's most prominent development economists. His ideas influenced policy across dozens of countries.
